Are you tired of being told what health care you need?  Are you ready to learn how to navigate our crazy system of health care? Do you need to understand what procedures are required, or just recommended?  These are just some of the topics we will cover in this “Consumer Health Lecture Series”.

In this first session you will get an overview of health care systems and health insurance (including Medicare), a breakdown of heath care costs and coverages, help in finding your way around the health care system, and help in determining when, and which health care you need.

The second session will cover the following: basic preventative and illness care, common surgical care, common prescribed rehab practices, alternative treatment modalities, experimental clinical trials, fact versus fraud: how to assess truth in medical information, and preparing for in-patient surgery or out-patient medical procedures.

Each combined session is 2 hours long, and will provide you with the information you will need to make informed choices for your health care.  The first two sessions are on June 13 from 10am – 12pm.  Sessions 3 & 4 are on June 27, from 10am – 12pm. They can be signed up for individually.

Please register for either or both sessions online.   Then we will be able to have a count of participants in order to have enough room for all.  A suggested donation for each valuable session is $10, payable at the door.
