Pastel is a bold, colorful and exciting form of artistic output and expression. It is executed with fragile, finger-sized sticks.  These drawing crayons, called pastels, are made of powdered pigments. A variety of colors can be achieved and they are spectacular to look at.

Your instructor, Beverly Carlson-Bradshaw, will introduce you to a brief history of pastels and types of pastels and papers used. There will be a demo at the beginning of class. She will then talk about mark making, values, atmosphere and differences in general painting.

The rest of the class will be spent painting fruit or vegetables of your choice. Please bring 2 or 3 fruit or vegetables with you.  You will get a materials list when you register. Class cost is $50.

Come join the fun!
