With storytelling as the focus, Dan Watts expands the Ten Commandments of Smartphone Photography to include a wide range of essential techniques to improve your photographic storytelling skills. Learn tips and tricks for establishing shots, medium shots, details, portraits, action shots and gatefold shots. Understand how to use lenses and modes. Class lessons are similar to a photo journalism magazine assignment. Sessions are designed for graduates of the entry level “Unlock” classes who want expand their knowledge and capture a broad range of images driven by their personal interests, lifestyles, and travel destinations. Emotion is the key ingredient here, and will challenge everyone’s decision making and composition expertise. Student observations will be recorded during each on-location class as everyone enjoys the discovery process.

INSTRUCTOR NAME:
Dan Watts
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Dan’s path to photography began at the University of Nebraska, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1975. He later moved to Arizona and founded Nextworld Media to provide photography and print advertising to construction companies, architects, entrepreneurs and non-profits. He worked for Arizona Business Magazine where he expanded his practice to include video and web design. Dan founded Az Smartphone Photography where he teaches on-location workshops, mentoring beginning and professional photographers, through his classes in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area.
