SUMMARY:Drawing: Problem-Solving Techniques - with Larry Charles (Class Full)
DESCRIPTION:In four Tuesday morning workshops\, nationally recognized artist and instructor Larry Charles will answer the biggest challenges facing people who like to draw. Whether you are a beginner or someone ready to go to the next level in realistic drawings\, this class will focus on problem-solving at the tip of a pencil. \nLarry will begin each session with a discussion of how to draw what you see. In step-by-step demonstrations\, he will focus on such topics as faces\, perspective\, fabric textures\, shading\, lighting effects\, and movement. You will then recreate these techniques in the same drawing as Larry mentors you every step of the way. \nThe last part of each class will be based upon questions you personally want addressed. How do I make a pet’s fur look real? How do I draw hands? What do I have to do to get water to look as I see it? \nBring your curiosity and willingness to take on the big challenges. \nSERIES DATES: October 6\, 13\, 20\, 27 | 2026\nFORMAT: In-person classroom\nINSTRUCTION METHOD: Hands-on\nAGES: Adults 18+\nEXPERIENCE LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate\nWHAT TO BRING: All materials supplied by instructor.\nFEE: $220. Then she found glass art to be a way to decompress from her intense job in neuropsychology—a 25-year career helping people recover from traumatic brain injuries. She said: “While working in the medium\, I could concentrate completely on the project\, sometimes using the other side of my brain to help solve a problem at work from a different perspective.” Today she enjoys working with students and has developed a variety of classes that help others appreciate the world of glass.
