Beginners welcome! Create a whimsical scene from our Sonoran Desert by using oil paints to bring out the beauty of these avian treasures. Learn tips for capturing their remarkable topknot plume with intricate blends of gray, chestnut and blue plumage and their striking white face markings by layering color and brush strokes for feathers.
This scene will also capture an agave, wild flowers and prickly pear cactus, reflecting the diversity of our desert. You’ll enjoy creating this piece of art you can take home and display or give as a gift.

INSTRUCTOR NAME: Cynthia Tadych-Eral
Cynthia believes in channeling her creative urges for producing unique artwork. As a juried artist with the Sonoran Art League, her paintings focus on landscapes, botanicals, and wildlife — which comes natural to her, having grown up on a small farm in Minnesota. She enjoys the many trails in Arizona and said “the natural world helps me connect with my subjects to find the right emotion I want to convey”. Her work exhibits at The Finer Arts Gallery in Cave Creek, Camelback Art Gallery, Dorleg Home Furnishings, and Tierra Del Lagarto and she’s also been featured in the March 2023 issue of “Images” magazine.
