Founded in 1960 by professional watercolor artists and instructors, the Arizona Watercolor Association’s purpose is to ‘promote and advance the art of painting in water-soluble media and to promote public awareness and interest in watercolor mediums through education, exhibitions and other organized events.
We are privileged to have an outstanding show now appearing at the Holland Gallery of Fine Art in North Scottsdale. Over 40 artists are participating, and the art is spectacular!
For the first time at the Holland Gallery, this exhibition can be viewed online. In this way, art patrons are able to sit in the comfort of their own homes, and view the art that is hanging in our gallery. There is a description of each piece, along with artist information. If you find a piece you must have, give us a call and we will arrange the sale!
The gallery is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9am – 4pm through November 18th. Call us first and we will let you know if there are any other groups in the gallery at that time. Please note that masks are required at the Holland Center and in the gallery.
The Holland Center is proud to feature an exciting, non-traditional venue where art lovers in our community can view, learn about, and purchase the works of talented artists from Arizona and beyond. With 2,400 square feet of space, our main gallery is ideal for group or solo exhibitions, themed exhibits, retrospectives, and experimental exhibitions. To ensure that we are presenting works that will captivate viewers and deepen their appreciation of art, all of our exhibits are juried.
Adjacent to the Holland Gallery of Fine Art is the Alley Gallery, which offers additional space for showcasing smaller works and provides a smooth transition as guests meander from our lobby area to the main exhibit. Both the Alley Gallery and the main space are hung with traditional gallery formatting for optimal viewing of the exhibits.
Exhibits generally rotate on the last Thursday of each month, with receptions held on the first Saturday each month. Receptions offer a great opportunity for artists to invite guests and share what inspires them, explain their creative process, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts.
During most months, we also offer our Art, Coffee and Conversation guided discussions, which provide a chance to learn more about an exhibit and interact with the artist who created it. These engaging events are free and open to the public; to enroll, visit Lifelong Learning page.
The Holland Galleries Jury Committee cordially invites you to apply for exhibition in our beautiful spaces. We currently have openings available beginning in Spring 2022. Individuals, small groups, leagues, and art organizations may apply to exhibit in either gallery or both, simultaneously or at separate times, pending availability. Jurying takes place twice annually.
In addition to our monthly exhibits and events, the Holland Center offers cross-promotion with other programs, including the Desert Foothills Theater. The Holland Gallery of Fine Art and the Alley Gallery experience significant foot traffic, offering a great opportunity to introduce your work to a new audience of art lovers.
Please download the gallery exhibition guidelines below for details on how to submit your work for exhibition, or complete our artist’s application and someone will get in touch with you.
