Presented by The Holland Center & Sonoran Arts League, this session features ceramic artist Sandy Ashbaugh. With 35+ years of experience, she creates porcelain inspired by flowers, using an intuitive process that plays with color, texture, and metallics to blend tradition, nature, and modern design.
From Sandy: “I create hand built sculptural and functional porcelain artwork inspired by the beauty and resilience of nature, especially florals. My work which is increasingly feminine, reflects the delicate balance between fragility and strength, using fine porcelain to explore designs in a quiet, thoughtful way. I often use contrasting colors and metallic accents to bring out texture and depth. These details highlight the shapes and movement in each piece. My goal is to make contemporary ceramics that are both beautiful and useful—art that connects people to the natural world and invites moments of reflection.”
