Foundations of Painting: Capturing the Wild Burro in Oils

Beginners welcome! Wild Burros reign supreme as an emblematic resident of the Sonoran Desert. Using oil paints on canvas, you’ll learn tips to capture one of these adorable residents through the layering of color and brush strokes. You will also learn about the materials, brush styles, paint mixing, palette layouts, composition, and values.
When hiking nearby trails, wild burros can be observed foraging on the scrubby desert underbrush. Using oil paints, you will bring out the unique features of these beloved burros. You will enjoy a fun and relaxing afternoon as Cynthia guides you step-by-step through the process of layering oils to create a small piece of art to take home and display or to give as a gift.

INSTRUCTOR NAME: Cynthia Tadych-Eral

Cynthia believes in channeling her creative urges for producing unique artwork. As a juried artist with the Sonoran Art League, her paintings focus on landscapes, botanicals, and wildlife — which comes natural to her, having grown up on a small farm in Minnesota. She enjoys the many trails in Arizona and said “the natural world helps me connect with my subjects to find the right emotion I want to convey”. Her work exhibits at The Finer Arts Gallery in Cave Creek, Camelback Art Gallery, Dorleg Home Furnishings, and Tierra Del Lagarto and she’s also been featured in the March 2023 issue of “Images” magazine.
