Experience the beauty of hand weaving on a rigid heddle loom. Learn several patterns, including clasp-weft inspired by Southwest tapestry designs. Choose natural Navajo Churro wool or bright Arizona sunset colors. Looms are pre-warped, giving you time to experiment and create a unique woven piece.
Students will be able to select from the natural color palette of Navajo churro wool, processed and provided by the instructor and/or the bright sunset colors of Arizona. The wood looms will be prepared in advance by the instructor so that students have ample time to experiment and create a unique woven piece. Students will have the opportunity to learn about wool, the Churro sheep breed and to incorporate some handspun yarns in their weavings.
