The American Flag has become the symbol of freedom throughout the world.  Today it represents a lot more than just the United States as a nation, it serves as an aspirational symbol of individualism and self-determination.  It has become the inspirational image of hope for people all over the world.  We will examine the history of the American Flag, the myths and the facts, as well as the character it depicts of the American culture.

SPEAKER BIO: Jim Sherbert’s 30-year career spans a wide range of consumer and commercial manufacturing categories with both domestic and international responsibilities. He has a passion for history and the broad scope of events and people who make America unique among nations. At The Holland Center, Jim is a former board chair, serves as development leader of the Desert Foothills Leadership Academy, and leads the Americana Lecture Series.
