Discover the soothing sounds of Native American flutes with a live demonstration and learn how music can heal.

Dr. Bonnstetter combines his love of music with his professional life as a cognitive neurology researcher by giving special attention to the effect of music on our well-being. Through the music from various Native American flutes and Didgeridoos, you will experience the four healing elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, and silence. This interactive presentation will allow you to participate and experience how music impacts each of us.

Presenter: Dr. Ron Bonnstetter has been volunteering at The Holland Center for many years — giving educational talks about his passions for coffee etching, spelunking, brain science, and Native style flute music. He and his wife Nicolette were instrumental in starting the Holland Gallery of Fine Art as well as the Sage Art Market. Together, their work has been fundamental to carving out The Holland Center’s niche in community arts & education.

Dr. Bonnstetter’s professional experience in cognitive neurology includes serving as senior vice president of research and development for Target Training International, Ltd. and Executive Director of the Mind Science Center, professor emeritus of University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and a well-respected speaker and presenter for national and international audiences. He has amassed an arsenal of recognition, research, and published works that have focused on combining social and behavioral science with a neurological focus. His specialties include research integrating assessments with EEG brain scans, Prefrontal Cortex Gamma Asymmetry, and professional speaking about brain function and human behavior.
