Who knew journaling could spark friendships? In this fun and supportive workshop, you’ll explore your thoughts through writing while connecting with others in a small group setting. With creative prompts and “quick thinks” from your facilitator, you’ll write freely—no filters, no judgment—just self-discovery and great conversation.

Plus, journaling can boost memory, reduce stress, and inspire creativity. Come join the jam and see where your words take you!

Journal Jam meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 1:00-2:00 pm, September through April. Class size is limited, so be sure to register below soon!

INSTRUCTOR: I am Kelly Clays and I volunteer at the Holland Center because I believe in fostering strong community relationships.  In my children’s elementary classrooms, I volunteered to teach Writing Workshop.  This allowed me to share the joy of writing while encouraging creativity in the minds of young learners.  Now my kids are currently following their young-adult journey away from home.  I have time to share my passion for writing with adults in my hometown of Cave Creek.  The Holland Center has welcomed me to explore this new adventure.  Writing and sharing conversation is an avenue that connects people in developing new affiliations and learning about one’s self.  I am excited to continue Journal Jam in this new year and launch a Discovery Hour centered around reading and discussing poetry.  I invite you to join me.
