About the Exhibits

The Holland Gallery of Fine Art presents The Arizona Watercolor Association. The Arizona Watercolor Association is proud to present their 65th Anniversary Exhibit, featuring 50 different artists’ work.

The Holland Alley Gallery presents Josephine Wilt’s Exhibit: Sustainability at its Best. This exhibit showcases art she has created using a variety of recycled and repurposed materials including leather from cast-off furniture and clothing, burlap from coffee bean sacks, and rusty metal cans discarded by old miners

About the Artists

Founded in 1960 by professional watercolor artists and instructors, AWA’s purpose is to ‘promote and advance the art of painting in water-soluble media and to promote public awareness and interest in watercolor mediums through education, exhibitions and other organized events’. Arizona Watercolor Association welcomes all who are interested in watermedia. At AWA you will find a supportive community of fellow artists and a chance to learn and grow as an artist, via monthly meetings, workshops and exhibitions. 

Josephine Wilt is a multimedia artist whose creative process is motivated by sustainability. She turns cast-off materials rescued from local thrift stores, dumpsters, and desert landscapes into fine art. Her artwork shares a very tactile impression of our incredible Arizona origins, its natives, and its landscapes — often inspired by the desert views from her Cave Creek backyard and the pine forests of the Mogollon Rim. Her goal is to give each of her pieces multiple dimensions and to enhance the connection she feels with the environment.
