PRESENTER: Debora Moritz – Debora grew up on a farm in Wisconsin where growing things was a way of life. Her father was a soil/water chemist and her mother a zoologist. The art and science of plants have always been a great interest. During college she was a volunteer at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens: 16 acres with a plant collection representing 80 plant families with 475 species. A move to Arizona opened a whole new range of desert plants to explore. She is a graduate of the Desert Botanical Gardens Desert Landscape School and a Maricopa County Master Gardener. She is a regular speaker at home shows on the topics of citrus in the low desert, agaves, succulents, and fruit trees. She is particularly fond of the huge varieties of adaptation succulents like the Adenium have made for survival in arid climates.
