STOP THE BLEED
This class is all about bleeding control for massive hemorrhage. It is a national initiative from the American College of Surgeons to help all members of the community be able to help each other in case of a bleeding emergency. Topics covered will include a short power point presentation and lots of hands on skills practice:
- Identifying life threatening bleeding
- Calling 911
- Commercial tourniquet
- Wound packing
- Makeshift aids
This class will be presented by an HonorHealth Trauma Services paramedic. The presenter is a 38 year veteran of emergency medical services, a 25 year fire department special operations veteran. He is currently resides within the Trauma Outreach/Injury Prevention division at the Military Partnership.
This class will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. $10 suggested donation at the door. Please register so that we know how many people to accept.
