Approximately one in five older persons experiences problems with dizziness or balance. Given the significant prevalence and negative effect of balance problems on daily activities as we age, balance disorders merit special attention.

A Matter of Balance (MOB) is specifically designed to reduce the fear of falling and improve activity levels among older adults. The program includes eight two-hour classes presented to a small group of participants led by a trained coach.

The program enables participants to reduce the fear of falling by learning to view falls as controllable, setting goals for increasing activity levels, making small changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Participants learn about the importance of exercise in preventing falls and practice exercises to improve strength, coordination, and balance.

We are asking for $5 from each person at the door. This helps us to keep programs like this one going.  We thank you so much. Please register early, as this class is limited in size.
