Improve your strength and balance! The number one cause of Level I traumas transported to the trauma center is injury resulting from a fall. These injuries can be very serious, possibly resulting in death.

This program of seven two-hour classes helps older adults reduce their fear of falling by learning to view falls as controllable.

A Matter of Balance will set goals for increasing activity levels, encourage small changes to reduce fall risks at home, and ways to exercise to increase strength and balance.

The Holland Center, in conjunction with AT Still University, is presenting the Matter of Balance falls prevention program. The program is specifically designed to reduce the fear of falling and improve activity levels among older adults.  It is directed to those older adults or their families who can use the information in the coaching and care their family members. The program includes seven two-hour classes presented to participants led by trained coaches. The program enables participants to reduce the fear of falling by learning to view falls as controllable, setting goals for increasing activity levels, making small changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Each student receives a Matter Of Balance manual to support weekly class learning and a home practice.

This program is a series of 7 classes. Dates and times below.
