You’ll learn how to layer pastels and soften the edges, how to achieve perspective, and how values can draw your eye into a painting and give it depth. If you have always wanted to try pastels, come join us for some fun with this medium.

WHAT TO BRING:
  • Pencil or thin charcoal stick for drawing
  • Small hard cheap brush small or medium size
  • Tight fitting vinyl gloves if you want to keep your hands clean
  • Photo of your favorite sunrise or sunset
  • Apron or old clothes, as pastels are dusty and hard to get out of clothes

INSTRUCTOR NAME: Beverly Carlson-Bradshaw
Beverly began drawing from a young age while growing up in Montana on a farm. She then moved to Seattle, WA and had her own interior design firm for 20+ years. She still works part-time in interior design but now has made her pastel paintings a priority. Beverly is self-taught, has taken workshops from notable pastel artists, and has won awards in juried shows. Her artwork is currently on display at The Finer Arts Gallery in Cave Creek, AZ.
