The Sonoran Arts League & the Holland Center are bringing together eight accomplished artists to share their journeys, inspirations, and passions with our community. This is a fantastic opportunity for art enthusiasts to connect with local talented artists and learn more about their creative processes!
An ASU graduate with a degree in Fine Arts in Ceramics, it was after exhibiting in an outdoor art show in Cave Creek that Christopher Heede decided he had to live in the desert surrounded by spectacular sunsets, fierce storms and abundant wildlife. He spent the next full year living in a teepee, building by himself the studio designed for him by renowned architect Will Bruder.
Despite over 5 decades (since he was in high school) working with clay, Heede is still experimenting with techniques, processes and design to create unique and dramatic pieces to produce commissions for individual clients and custom builders.
“Working in and surrounded by nature is what nurtures and inspires my work. The dichotomy of simplicity and complexity constantly inspires and challenges me. I strive to maintain integrity in my work and make it a beautiful and timeless expression of my life and my vision,” writes Heede.
