About the Exhibit

The Holland Gallery of Fine Art presents our new exhibit: VIBRANCE Fine Art of Arizona Women.

VIBRANCE: Fine Art of Arizona Women brings together four accomplished artists whose distinct visions celebrate the beauty, energy, and diversity of Arizona’s creative spirit. From the fluid luminosity of silk and watercolor to the rich texture of acrylic, each artist expresses her own connection to nature, emotion, and imagination. Together, their work invites viewers into a world alive with color, movement, and meaning—reflecting the strength and vitality of women in art.

About the Artists

MJ Okawa is a contemporary silk painter and arts educator whose vibrant works illuminate the beauty, color, and rhythm of the natural world. Using metallic gutta outlines and layers of jewel-toned silk dyes, she creates intricate landscapes, florals, and abstracts that shimmer with movement and emotion. Based in Chandler, Arizona, MJ blends traditional Japanese silk techniques with a modern aesthetic, producing works that pulse with life and light. A proud member of On The Edge Gallery, she frequently exhibits at galleries, festivals, and art shows throughout Arizona and teaches silk-painting workshops that inspire others to explore this luminous art form. MJ also loves collaborating with collectors on custom commissions and special orders, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that bring joy and color into homes and public spaces. She is currently developing several public-art proposals that expand her signature silk work into large-scale, light-filled installations.

Robin Rand is an acrylic artist recognized for her richly textured abstract paintings, often inspired by the resilience and poetry of trees. Through layers of color and form, her work explores themes of growth, connection, and transformation. Each piece invites reflection—a conversation between strength and fragility, surface and depth. Her expressive style and tactile approach create an immersive experience that evokes serenity and movement, revealing the quiet beauty found within change and renewal. Robin’s work has been featured in juried exhibitions and fine-art festivals with tremendous success throughout Arizona and Colorado, where her distinctive textures and vibrant palettes captivate collectors and fellow artists alike. Deeply inspired by the desert landscape and the enduring strength of trees, she continues to explore the intersection of nature and abstraction, celebrating perseverance, balance, and the ever-evolving journey of growth.

Jennifer Summa has been painting since childhood and has shared her love of art as an instructor since 2010. Her work has appeared worldwide in the interior-design industry for more than 25 years and remains a favorite at fine-art festivals across Arizona. Jennifer’s studio practice spans oil and acrylic, where she creates custom commissions ranging from cityscapes and landscapes to abstracts and pet portraits. She also handcrafts her own frames, infusing each piece with care and craftsmanship. A proud mother of three daughters, she considers their success her greatest masterpiece. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Arizona and continues to create artwork that radiates warmth, imagination, and technical precision.
