The process of determining who will fill the role of the nation’s highest office, the Presidency, has at times been quite controversial.  The process is not as simple as “one person – one vote”, as each state is allowed to set its own processes for each election and is responsible to certify the person chosen by that state.  We will examine the election process including the Electoral College, state certification processes, and the role of the federal government in the Presidential election process.

SPEAKER BIO: Jim Sherbert’s 30-year career spans a wide range of consumer and commercial manufacturing categories with both domestic and international responsibilities. He has a passion for history and the broad scope of events and people who make America unique among nations. At the Holland Center, Jim is a former board chair, serves as development leader of the Desert Foothills Leadership Academy, and leads the Americana Lecture Series.
