Create one-of-a-kind, captivating glass scultpure that captures the beauty and power of the ocean. Using colorful frit (ground) glass and your own artistic style, you will design and create a striking crashing wave scultpure. You may choose display your unique piece of art in your home – or share it as a thoughtful handmade gift for someone you know that loves the ocean.

Whether you prefer tranquil turquoise waters or dramatic rolling surf, each piece will reflect the individual artists creativity. No previous glass art skills needed – just bring your imagination and a willingness to explore a fascinating art form. Your completed project will be 10” round.

INSTRUCTOR NAME: Kathy Nelson
Kathy was first inspired by glass art after a European tour where she saw “the most magnificent glasswork in the stained-glass windows of ancient cathedrals”. Then she found glass art to be a way to decompress from her intense job in neuropsychology—a 25-year career helping people recover from traumatic brain injuries. She said: “While working in the medium, I could concentrate completely on the project, sometimes using the other side of my brain to help solve a problem at work from a different perspective.” Today she enjoys working with students and has developed a variety of classes that help others appreciate the world of glass.
