Fiber Art – Learning to “Wet” Felt
February 27 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
|
$80.00
Experience the feel of the natural fibers while you create a colorful and beautiful fabric item for your home. The method we will be following is called “wet felting”. We will overlap layers of wool, add soap and water, and then rub and roll the piece until it becomes fabric or “felted”. You don’t have to have a lot of hand strength for this class, but you will be using your hands to place layers of wool down and then rub and roll it to completion. As an added benefit, you will leave this class with the knowledge of how to replicate this process at home.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:
I’m Lucy Huckery the fiber artist behind Tall Cactus Studio. I make eco printed and felted art creations that are both beautiful and functional. My sister taught me to wet felt many years ago and I took it up again 3 years ago when I started my small business. I enjoy felting items that are useful such as trivets, coasters, placemats, purses, table runners, glasses cases, pin cushions and scarves. But I also like designing sculptural pieces to be enjoyed as art.
