Join us for a special opportunity to combine creativity with compassion in this hands-on fused glass workshop. You’ll design and create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind glass bowl that will be donated to the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center’s 2026 Empty Bowls Fundraiser. Every bowl created will help raise funds to fight food insecurity in our community, allowing your artwork to make a lasting difference while sharing hope with neighbors in need.
This unique workshop is limited to just two sessions with 12 participants each, making it an exclusive opportunity to support an important community cause. Each student will create a distinctive fused glass bowl, and photographs of your finished piece will be provided before the bowls are donated for the Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Saturday, November 14, 2026.
Whether you’re new to fused glass or an experienced glass artist, you’re invited to be part of this meaningful project. Make a bowl, make a difference, and help turn art into hope for our community.
Kathy was first inspired by glass art after a European tour where she saw “the most magnificent glasswork in the stained-glass windows of ancient cathedrals”. Then she found glass art to be a way to decompress from her intense job in neuropsychology—a 25-year career helping people recover from traumatic brain injuries. She said: “While working in the medium, I could concentrate completely on the project, sometimes using the other side of my brain to help solve a problem at work from a different perspective.” Today she enjoys working with students and has developed a variety of classes that help others appreciate the world of glass.
