Dan Watts

My path to photography began at the University of Nebraska, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1975. Moved to Arizona and founded Nextworld Media to provide photography and print advertising to construction companies, architects, entrepreneurs and non-profits. I was able to shoot for Arizona Business Magazine where I met future clients and expanded my practice to include video and web design.

Fatherhood and coaching youth baseball began another phase that eventually led to the technology of smartphones. Founded Az Smartphone Photography where I now mentor a series of on-location workshops. Locations include: Tempe Town Lake, the Desert Botanical Garden, the Optima Camelview and Scottsdale Center for the Arts. Needing to escape the heat, I initiated my own summer version of Beat the Heat with a new workshop at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
