The world is in the midst of a shocking demographic change. The developed nations of the world (the Americas plus Europe and China) have a fertility rate of well below the 2.2 required to retain a stable population. Compounding the issue, life expectancy has climbed to a point that seniors will make up a disproportional percentage of the population, as much as 50% in some countries, within the next 25 years. We will explore the social, economic and geopolitical impact of this trend, while attempting to explore the specific impact these changes will have on the United States.
