On two fields of battle more than 1,000 miles apart, on the same weekend in July 1863, the eventual outcome of the Civil War was determined. Gettysburg marked the “high water mark” of the Confederacy, and the surrender of Vicksburg broke the South’s supply line. We will explore the events leading up to these decisive battles and how they influence the nation and the world.
