Looking for a creative way to unwind? In this free 1 hour workshop, you will be guided step by step through simple tangle patterns that produce a beautiful and calming piece of artwork. This hour is artistic and meditative-no prior experience is needed. We will explore precision without pressure and focus without stress.
Create either a panel for an LED stand or a lantern with fairy lights. Work with pre-cut blank panels of fusible glass, and materials such as stringers, vitrigraph, frit (crushed glass), and murrine -- plus a variety of colorful sheet glass to adorn your panels. Items will be available for pickup within two weeks after kilning.
This 4-session class is designed as an introduction for beginners but can also be taken repeatedly as an enjoyable hour of beneficial exercise where students have reported improvement in balance, flexibility, and posture. Warm-up includes breathing and stretching prior to the Tai Chi movements.

Combine various glass elements together, including frit ground glass, pebbles of glass, and stringers. No glass cutting skills required. Each student will make one large and one small dragonfly.

Youth ages 14-18 are invited to attend three (3) introductory meetings for free to see if The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Cadet Program is right for them. The program is a community-based policing program designed to educate and engage young men and women in law enforcement functions, whether they decide to enter the field or not. As a Cadet, young adults have the opportunity to assist the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office as volunteers and receive specialized law enforcement training, attend weekly meetings, and volunteer to perform important community services. Along the way, they learn teamwork, responsibility, accountability, leadership, ethics, and other fundamental skills that enable youth to be successful in life.
