Our four Tuesday morning watercolor workshops in January are geared for both first-time watercolorists and those more experienced artists who want to achieve more realistic effects in their paintings.

Instructor Larry Charles will begin each class with a step-by-step demonstration, followed by individual help as you create your own version of the same subject.

Lessons include how to mix the right color; how to get more brush control for details; and how to get special visual effects like reflections, skin tones, and natural shadows.

Expect to do two watercolors in each class as you practice painting landscapes, people, and still lifes.

Watercolor Supply List to Bring to Class

  1. Three watercolor brushes: #1 Round, #5 Round, and a ½” or larger flat brush
  2. A 24-pan watercolor paint set from Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, or bring set that you are already using.
  3. Instructor recommends an 11”x15” pad of 140# cold press watercolor paper.

Tips: Invest in good quality watercolor brushes for best results.
