Learn from our Signature Program Desert Awareness Committee Master Gardeners about how to maintain your desert landscaping and raise healthy plants. You’ll learn how you can keep your yard looking like a native lush, colorful desert, but with little water and no pruning — and also where and what to plant and how to care for it.
Topics covered: placement, coverage, color, growth rates, water use, and pruning strategies — plus recommendations from the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (AMWUA) when considering water needs.
We will also be sharing the amazing artwork from our youth K-12 artists as we recognize their talent and announce the winners of the Cactus Charlie Poster Contest. Using Cactus Charlie, or creating their own figures, these youth artists illustrate their water conservation slogan. Poster submission deadline is April 16 by 5PM.
