Presented by a Trauma Services paramedic, this class is all about bleeding control for massive hemorrhage. It is a national initiative from the American College of Surgeons to help all members of the community be able to help each other in case of a bleeding emergency. Topics covered will include a short power point presentation and lots of hands on skills practice:
- Identifying life threatening bleeding
- Calling 911
- Commercial tourniquet
- Wound packing
- Makeshift aids
The presenter is a 38 year veteran of emergency medical services, a 25 year fire department special operations veteran. He is currently resides within the Trauma Outreach/Injury Prevention division at the Military Partnership.
