The United States Supreme Court Building at sunset in Washington DC, USA.

The Supreme Court is the highest legal authority in the nation and a coequal branch of the federal government. The Supreme Court’s role, purpose and limits of authority are often misunderstood. We will examine the formation of the Court and the scope of its power and influence. We will examine why the United States is a Common Law nation and how this has allowed the Court to interpret the Constitution differently over the nation’s history, even reversing prior Court decisions more than 300 times. We will capture the personalities and key decisions that govern America’s legal system.

$10 donation suggested at the door.
