Beginners welcome! The saguaro cactus' blossom is the state wildflower of Arizona. Using oil paints, you will capture the intricate dance of light and shadow that plays upon each section of spines, and learn about the materials, brush styles, paint mixing, palette layouts, composition, and values — all from our beloved local and juried artist Cynthia Tadych-Eral.
This 3-session class is designed as an introduction for beginners but can also be taken repeatedly as an enjoyable hour of beneficial exercise where students have reported improvement in balance, flexibility, and posture. Warm-up includes breathing and stretching prior to the Tai Chi movements.
Enjoy year-round flowers in your home with fused-glass flower bowls! These bowls are made with fused glass, frit (ground glass), and stringers. In this 3-session class, The Holland Center and Cave Creek Unified School District's (CCUSD) Education & Community Services (ECS) partner to introduce students to sewing and quilting skills using a sewing machine. After application of skills, students will walk away with a beautiful, quilted piece of art that can hang on a door or wall inside the home. Open to all students; not required to reside in CCUSD.
