Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan is the featured exhibition we will be touring. The exhibition highlights 40 avant-garde ceramic works created by 36 Japanese women artists, showcasing their technical, innovative, and often rebellious approaches to clay in the post-WWII era. You will also have an opportunity to view the permanent collections in the museum including:
- Diverse Art Spheres: Collections span American, Asian, European, Latin American, Western American, and Modern/Contemporary art.
- Fashion Design: One of the few U.S. museums with a dedicated fashion collection, featuring over 9,000 historic and custom-couture garments.
- Fireflies Infinity Mirror Room: A permanent, immersive, and highly popular installation by legendary artist Yayoi Kusama.
- Sculpture Garden: The Bennett and Jacquie Dorrance Sculpture Garden provides a massive 40,000-square-foot outdoor art space.
Your ticket includes charter bus transportation, museum admission, and a private group docent for the tour. Lunch is separate and not included in the ticket price- see lunch options below.
Lunch Options
Alden Restaurant is inside the Museum and they have made arrangements for our Art Bus group to have a reserved space and pre-order lunch. Lunch is $25, includes gratuity and a drink, and must be ordered by Friday, June 5th at 12 noon. Here are the four options available for pre-order.
- Burrata Sandwich with chips: focaccia, heirloom, tomatoes, pesto, arugula and piquillo peppers (vegetarian)
- Salmon Rillette Sandwich with Chips: Faroe salmon, creme fraiche, radish, house pickles, tomato
- Fattoush Salad: arugula, baby kale, spring + snap peas, cucumber, sweet pickled apples, sunflower seeds, shallot, mint, feta, pita chips
- Kale Caesar Salad: romaine lettuce, kale, celery, fried capers, grana padano, croutons
