Create a unique piece of art using something that most people have never worked with: Gourds!
Darlene, your expert instructor, says “In this class you will create a detailed Gourd Doll or as I call them my girls with Attitude.”
All supplies to make your gourd doll area included- the gourd, mini pots, gourd base, stains, feathers, and beads to create and adorn your gourd doll. Designs can be created with tape, then dyed. So take a chance with gourds, and you will be surprised!
There is a limited number of tools available to share including Dremel tools. Darlene also provides masks, gloves, and tape.
Special note from instructor: If you have your own gourd tools please bring them to class and email Darlene at darsaucedo@gmail.com that are bringing your own tools.
All other materials will be provided. Please wear old clothes or bring an apron. And a snack or lunch, and something to drink.
This is an all-day class, with a brief lunch break. No experience necessary!

Instructor Bio
Darlene Saucedo is an award winning master gourd artist. She’s lived in the Southwest United States for over 35 years, and has enjoyed experimenting with a wide range of desert materials in her workshop. From gourds to desert clay, she creates ways to turn these natural materials into beautiful and even whimsical canvases. Darlene is a member of the Sonoran Art League, AZGS/Arizona Gourd Society, AGS/American Gourd Society, West Brook Fine Arts, Arizona Art Alliance Gallery, and the Gourd Gypsies Patch.
