You don’t need to be funny to thrive in improv—you just have to be you! Designed under our health and wellness program, this unique 4-week workshop is built for everyday seniors with absolutely zero theater or comedy experience.
The Holland Center has partnered with Desert Foothills Theater to bring you a gentle, joyful workout for the mind. Led by Sandi Carll, this class uses lighthearted, fresh games to boost memory, sharpen cognitive agility, and create lasting friendships.
Why this class is perfect for you:
- No Quick Wit Required: Improv isn’t about jokes or being a comedian. It’s simply about listening, being present, and sharing a laugh.
- Brain Health & Wellness: Think of it as yoga for your mind, specifically structured to improve cognitive vitality and focus.
- 100% Stress-Free: Sandi’s warm, supportive approach ensures you will never be put on the spot, judged, or embarrassed.
- Zero Spotlight Pressure: There is no final stage performance. We play entirely for ourselves, the fun, and each other.
- Fully Accessible: Every single game can be easily adapted for low-mobility or seated participation.
If you can hold a conversation and enjoy laughing, you already have all the skills you need. Come try something new in a safe, welcoming environment!
All class activities can be adapted for low mobility or seated play.
