PRESENTER: Diane Vaszily from our signature program Desert Awareness Committee will guide us through an exploration of the medicinal plants that thrive in our unique desert ecosystem as part of the Foothills Speaker Series — a partnership between Desert Foothills Land Trust and The Holland Center. Her expertise and enthusiasm promise to shed new light on the natural wonders we often overlook. You’ll discover how these resilient desert plants have been used for generations to promote health and wellness.

Desert Awareness Committee (DAC) – one of our signature programs at The Holland Center. DAC has been the community resource advocate for the Sonoran Desert since 1974. Their mission is to educate residents and visitors so that they may join in understanding, conserving, and preserving our diverse and fragile desert — its plants, animals, water, and wildlife.
