The Robber Barons were a byproduct of America’s business success during the Industrial Revolution. Enormous wealth and influence was created in an era before rules of commerce were created and labor laws were established. Anti-trust laws changed the landscape of American industry, but the complexity and speed of today’s commerce may be allowing a 21st century recreation of The Robber Barons.
