Most Americans view their nation as a Democracy. America’s Founding Fathers were fearful of majority rule devolving into what Thomas Jefferson called “mob rule”. They opted for a variation of a Democracy called Constitutional Republic. We will examine how a Republic differs from a pure Democracy and compare to other governing alternatives throughout the world, including examining Socialism vs. Capitalism. |
