From landmark decisions to modern controversies, the Supreme Court has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation. Explore the Court’s history, purpose, and continuing influence on American life and government.
Created as the third branch of the federal government, the Supreme Court was designed to uphold the Constitution and ensure that the nation’s laws are applied fairly and consistently. Though Alexander Hamilton described it as the least powerful branch because it controls neither the military nor the nation’s finances, the Court has become one of the most influential institutions in American public life.
Through significant decisions issued by the current Supreme Court, the Court continues to shape the nation. Whether you are a lifelong student of history, a concerned citizen, or simply curious about how nine justices can impact the lives of millions of Americans, this presentation offers valuable insight into one of the most fascinating institutions in our constitutional system.
